-Securely fastened to the player's head

-Flat clips less than two inches long may be used to hold hair in place close to head as long as placement on the head does not create an increased risk to player, teammates, or opponents.

Are scholarships or financial aid available?
Yes, they are available but limited. Please reach out to your regional commissioner to discuss scholarships/financial aid. Scholarships will cover region fees, but not member national fees.

Can my child play up?
If you feel that your child should play up a division, please reach out to your regional commissioner to discuss this. This decision will be based upon player's ability and skill level. The following criteria must be met for your child to play up:

-The Region must obtain formal written acknowledgment that this what the parents of the child want for their child and confirm that they believe their child is developmentally ready for that age division. Parents must understand that the exception does not necessarily guarantee future exceptions.
-The Region determines the player is developmentally ready to safely play and compete in the next division. Children who are restricted from heading in their age division should not be allowed to play up if the next division allows heading.

Can my child play down?
Players may play down a division if the region determines that playing down would genuinely benefit the child socially, developmentally and athletically. The following criteria must be met:
-The Region obtain a written request for this exception, expressing the need to play down and the need is determined to be genuinely warranted based on developmental readiness of the child as opposed to a preference to be with classmates, friends or siblings.
-The Region determines that the child playing down does not pose any greater risk to the players in the lower division.
-The Region receives written confirmation from the child's parents that they understand that their child may not be eligible to play with his/her team in competition outside of the Region.
-Full disclosure to all division coaches of the fact that a player has been allowed to play down in the division is required, but the reason for playing down is not required to be disclosed.
